In the ‘Unwinding India’ show there were 11 designers showcasing their SS19 collections.
The models, with hair brushed up into behives and crimped at the sides, wore white tribal makeup, with yellow accents. The clothes were a mix of free flowing, layered garments that moved effortlessly with the models every step, and more structured piece’s like designer, Ashna Thakral’s, first dress which was a strapless style with a structured painted skirt.
We saw colour blocking in Yesha Hiten Patadia’s collection and gold embroidery in Savita Bhushan Jain’s collection. Savita says, “the show was amazing, it was so good!”
“I feel so proud to be showcasing in London. It’s amazing – a dream come true.”
The eclectic show had something for everyone, whether it was fuchsia leather or distressed denim; luxurious satin or streamlined silhouettes; or earthy prints and embroidered paisleys. Each designer had something unique and stunning to offer.
